Here's To Celtic Storm and Robyn Bretzing

As Jorge's days for coaching Christine's soccer team came winding down to an end, there was much sadness. Jorge felt guilty for not taking Christine's team at Utah FC further than they did. It was a sad ending and no one wanted to see Jorge let the team go more than Jorge did, but they were not progressing, and even though Jorge was not head coach this past year, he felt like he was and he still loved this team. He has coached many of these girls since they were 9 years old. Well, time moves on and there would always have come a point where he would need to hand the girls off to another coach who would lead them to even better greatness. Jorge looked and wondered what we should do to ensure our daughter was in the best possible place to succeed. We found the spot and it was up to Christine to do her best to get on the team. Celtic Storm is one of the best girls soccer clubs in the state of Utah. It is based out of Orem and has many of it's older girls get college scholarships. The best part is, Christine's age would be coached by one of the best soccer coaches in the state. Robyn Bretzing is amazing to say the least. I had to Google her and this is what I found:

Receiving the Teacher of the Year award for 2008 for Alpine School District she also has the following under her belt:

* Southwest District Teacher of the Year - 2008
* Alpine School District Golden Apple Award - 2008
* UAHPERD Teacher of the Year - 2007
* Utah Soccer Hall of Fame Inductee - 2007
* Addidas Region IV Coach of the Year – 2006

Robyn founded Celtic Storm and coached at the beginning. She has had more of her girls get college scholarships than any other coach. She was the youngest and first woman to be inducted into the Utah Soccer Hall of Fame. Robyn played for BYU and played on the U.S. National Amateur soccer team. I also discovered that the first team she coached had a girl on it who I babysat. This girl went on to get a soccer college scholarship, and now my daughter is being coached by the same coach! I am excited. Jorge is excited. Most importantly, Christine is EXCITED! Christine made the team and has been working hard ever since. She was even told she needed to run 5 miles in 40 minutes........and she can do it! I have one amazing daughter being coached by one amazing woman! Thanks Robyn!

These girls have never played before, but recently participated in a very difficult tournament and took 2nd place. GO CELTIC STORM!
